Posting about Bugs

If you want to tell me about a bug, please include a screenshot of the behavior if it's visual, and definitely copy/paste in the contents of friendslog.log (turn on debug logging in the options, then get friendslog.log from your installation directory). If I have those, I'll be able to fix bugs a lot faster.Posted 5 years ago #

> You would be soooo much better off linking this program to bungie.net... it doesn't have the problems that Xbox.com has, but still says what game u're friends are playing. In other words it would probably get rid of the wrong FL prob

> A better skin would be nice, incorporating the Xbox color into the program would be sweeet!
> You've already got the basic code down for u're program, additional features would get it well known... you could make a 'Donate' feature for u'reself
NICE PROGRAM... expand upon it a little and get ahead of the game w00t X-D
>>>Other people PLEASE post u're possible feature requests... site admin, it would be nice to make a 'FUTURE REQUESTS' sticky

I cannot make this program work with other browsers. The only time it has to use IE is for sign-in, and that should happen only once.
While using Bungie's friends list would make it easier in parts, they DO suffer from similar problems, and this would require that people have a Bungie.net account also. It's something I have been thinking about and will consider in the future. I doubt if it will provide more features however - I already do quite a bit with bungie.net to get the emblems.
There's no need to skin this program, as it would make it larger and more bloated.
And yes, I do have a "donate" button, on the download page. So far, out of the 9,000 users of XBlist, none have clicked that button. It's one of the reasons why, busy as I am, I have not devoted as much time to XBList beyond just bugfixes.
And I'll get right on that feature requests sticky.Posted 5 years ago # -
k, well that's still cool. I got it to work w/ IE... it's just REALLY hard cause it's all messed up from internet security and stuff, BUT i got it. So now it's FIREFOX all the way.
Thanks nice program
>You would be better off putting u're 'DONATE' button on the Actual program and make it a link... just an ideaPosted 5 years ago # -
um, like the GUEST in the 'Feature Requests' sticky i am having probs w/ the placement of the XBList. Whenever i open it it is in a different position than where it was closed. My friend has same prob. **What i did notice is that it tends to open where my cursor is... if that makes any sense .
REPLY please ;-)Posted 5 years ago # -

Interesting puzzle, especially given that multiple users are seeing this behavior.
What way do you normally close the program? Do you click the "Close" button, select the "Exit" menu option, or right-click on the XBList drawer icon and select "Close XBList?"
I've found that if the program's window is minimized and you right-click the drawer icon and then select "Close XBList," the program will position the window in a different location (from the one it held before minimization) when you restart the program. Is this the way you close the program, or do you exit the program in a different method?
If this is the method you use, a solution might be possible (although I cannot say for certain, since brh is the codemaster... I merely lift and separate ;-) )Posted 5 years ago # -
I've been fooling around with different ways of closing it. hehe, i think i tryed EVERY combination. It seemed to stay in the same place as i clicked the "X" button. HOWEVER, this only worked when it wasn't minimized. WHENEVER minimized, and brought back up, it always loses position when exited. SO... the only way it worked for me was clicking the "X" button before minimizing it.
>>>Closing it this way isn't an option cause like every user, i minimize it. So i found this to be a program bug, cause another friend has similar probsPosted 5 years ago # -

Good to meet you, HALO2GAMER :)
Ah, the finicky window position finite-state-machine. I could tell you stories... but they're all boring ;) The behavior people are seeing is certainly puzzling... we'll see if we can get it figured out.
Are you perhaps playing full-screen games on your PC (like World of Warcraft) between minimizing and maximizing the XBList window? Those will sometimes re-size the screen geometry, which can lead to all sorts of wackiness (even with minimized windows). Beyond that, I'm out of ideas for now... I'll try a little experiment tonight and let you know if I discover anything. If you could, try taking some screenshots of the bad behavior and posting them to this forum (a sequence of 5 screenshots... before-minimize-maximize-quit program-run program... would be ideal). We may be able to look at the screenshots and notice something different from what we see on our copies of XBList. If you don't want to drop the screenshots on the forum, you can e-mail them directly to me; my e-mail address is
