Hey,
love this app, use it everyday. And so far theres only one thing that buggs. When a player is playing something (the game doesnt not matter) but hes away, xblist pop up will say hes on the dashboard, every minute or so. When the main window clearly says hes been away playing X game for Y minutes.

Would it be possible to integrate the sending of messages without opening the browser? A text box that you can type the message in and send it would be much more convenient than the current method. Seems like it couldn't be too hard, but admittedly I don't know anything about it.

Also the ability to customize the look and position of the popups would be nice. The defaults are great but something smaller would suit me and probably many others.

I'd just like to say that I've used XBList for at least 3-4 solid years of the 5 years it's been around and it's always been really great. Almost every time that I've reformatted my pc or built a new one I've searched around for a different Xbox Friends List application and without fail it seems XBList is literally the only existing app for the job.

Lately I've been assuming that there will be 'some' activity on the app's development for the upcoming Halo Reach game since Ben Hollis seems to be a big Halo fan, at least judging from the halo specific features, and the few other halo things he's done. All that said it saddens me that the app isn't really in any active development.

I realize that there really isn't much to do either way, and maybe this is because I'm used to using applications that are both new and in beta form thus they are extremely active. Most of my lust for a more active focus on this app is due to it being the only one of it's kind and seeing the potential for it to really be great, heck it could even become extremely popular if it hits the right buttons and gets featured on a tech/gaming blog :)

Just some very quick and small thoughts on actual features and such:
-Is there anyway to internalize the sign in process so it doesn't need a separate browser to open up and sign in?
-Have you considered opening the project up to the community and allowing open source individuals to maintain it rather then it being basically a side project for yourself?

Anyways I just thought I'd finally contribute something (check your paypal, from Joey Johansen) to you seeing as XBList is a great little app that's one of it's kind even over 5 years time, I hope you continue to at least keep track of it and keep it alive in some capacity.

Thanks.

Just got my xbox and looked for an app to manage my xbox live stuff on my PC. Founds yours, it's really great however, I don't stay connected with the app if i close IE8. It loses the connection. Is this a known problem, if not, what information do you need to trace it?

Edit: Nevermind. I was automatically deleting cookies and passwords using a setting in IE8 on exit, which caused the problem.

Hi

Im using the Xbox Live Gamercard gadget with Windows 7 which I think is excellent, though im having a small (annoying) problem.

Whenever I boot up the PC and there is no internet connection im asked to download a htm file named dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm

Ive had a read around and it seems to be down to the fact the Gadget needs to connect to the internet on startup (i.e. xbox.com) to download the details for the gamercard.

Is there any way around this, other than allways having an internet connection. It would be good if the gadget could store the details somehow and only update when connected.

Thanks for your help.

For no discernible reason, XBList started returning the following dialog about 2 days ago:

"Xbox.com is acting strangely. It may be down for maintenance or they may have changed things. If Xbox.com is up, please let me know by email or post on the XBList forums."

I am not aware of any recent changes to my network, and the firewall (Kaspersky Internet Security 2010) has XBList set as a trusted app. Perhaps something xbox.com has changed. The XBList debug log is here:

Just installed XBList.

Starts up and tells me I'm not signed in so I click the sign-in button and succesfully log in to Xbox.com, ensuring my username & password are saved. XBL still doesn't sign in.

Closed XBL & restarted - same thing each time: I get the message that I'm not logged in, I click the sign-in button and up pops IE where I am automatically signed in (as my username and password are saved now) but still XBL doesn't log in!

Help!!

hi,

all of the sudden, XBList won't start for me. it is stuck at 25% CPU usage and nothing ever comes up. I tried uninstalling and re-installing - same problem.

any idea what might cause this? the last log doesn't seem to be helpful - it's from this morning from the last time it did start correctly. it doesn't appear that any new log is created now when i try to start the program.

thanks...
